The OpticsMED LG-918C uses a DC motor (vs the LG-918A's AC motor) for quieter operation. Same auto-positioning bar, same three-hole pattern drill, same plastic base — but with a noise-sensitive DC motor that suits drilling stations adjacent to optometry exam rooms where AC-motor noise would be disruptive.
