The OpticsMED SJG-5189 is a benchtop auto lens edger built around an imported PC-compatible sand wheel. The polycarbonate wheel handles modern impact-resistant lens materials without the surface burn that ordinary CR-39 wheels produce when forced onto PC blanks. The same wheel still runs CR-39 and glass cleanly, so a mid-volume lab can move from a child's PC Rx to an adult glass single-vision job without a wheel swap.
