It reliably confirms whether a lens blocks UV, which is all I really need. The display is a little utilitarian but the measurement itself is dependable.

UV818WL portable rechargeable UV anti-radiation tester — chairside demo tool that proves to customers that their lens really blocks UV (and detects counterfeit currency as a bonus).
Clinical overview
The OpticsMED UV818WL is the chairside lens-quality-demo tool. When the dispenser places a UV-400 lens between the tester's UV light and the indicator, the indicator turns red — confirming the lens blocks UV. If the indicator turns green, the lens is also anti-radiation grade.
The visible, audience-friendly demonstration converts more premium-coating sales than any verbal explanation. The same device also detects counterfeit currency (a bonus feature for retail-front cash-handling).

Retail opticians and dispensing labs that want a chairside demo tool to convert sales of premium UV coatings, anti-radiation lenses and computer-glass coatings. The visible indicator change is the kind of show-don't-tell evidence that closes the upgrade conversation.

A simple way to demonstrate a lens's UV-blocking performance to patients at the dispensing bench, and the readout is easy to interpret. Useful reassurance when verifying finished lenses.
