Product overview
The OpticsMED MP-10 (also marketed as SLY-100) is a manual phoroptor — the refracting head with sphere wheels, cylinder wheels, rotary prism and Jackson cross cylinder that hangs in front of the patient on an adjustable arm. The manual format remains the optometrist's choice in markets where the practitioner prefers full tactile control over the refraction sequence rather than driving an electronic console.
Key features
- Sphere range +16.75 to -19.00 D (0.25 D step; 0.12 D with auxiliary lens)
- Cylinder range 0 to -6.00 D (extends to -8.00 D with auxiliary cylinder lens)
- Cross cylinder ± 0.25 D
- Rotary prism 0 to 20 Δ, 1 Δ step
- PD adjustment 50 to 75 mm, 1 mm step
- Convergence adjustment (∞ and 380 mm at PD 64 mm)
- Butterfly-shape body with all-optic high-grade plated-film lenses

Built for
Optometry practices and ophthalmology departments that run subjective refraction by hand. Particularly fits clinics in markets where electronic phoropters are not yet standard, residency programmes teaching the refraction sequence step-by-step, and clinics that prefer the durability of a mechanical head over an electronic one.
